At Transit Tees, we’ve always believed that everyday city life deserves to be celebrated, whether it’s the rumble of the ‘L’ train overhead, the rhythm of a daily commute, or the simple joy of running into your favorite neighborhood character. We’ve been capturing the quirks, charm, and iconic visuals of Chicago life since 2001—and now, we’re taking that energy to our blog.

This space will be our new digital hangout, a place where we’ll share what inspires our designs, spotlight the people and places we love, and keep you posted on everything Transit Tees. Think of it as an open notebook full of behind-the-scenes glimpses, local event recaps, product drops, artist stories, and the kind of hyper-local humor Chicagoans know and love. We’ll be posting new entries weekly, so bookmark us, subscribe to updates, or just check back often—we’ll be here.

Who We Are

Transit Tees is a Chicago-born and based design company inspired by city living. We take iconic local imagery and reimagine it with a sense of humor and an eye for good design. From CTA-themed t-shirts to neighborhood-specific art prints and houseware accessories, our collections are proudly made in Chicago, for Chicagoans (and the people who love them).

With two brick-and-mortar storefronts—one in Wicker Park and another in Andersonville—we’re proud to be a part of the neighborhoods that inspire so much of our work. If you’ve ever wandered into our gift stores, you know we’re more than just a t-shirt shop. We’re a creative hub for all things Chicago, with original hand-screen printed posters, glassware, puzzles, board games and more.

Of course, you don’t have to be in the city to shop with us. Our full product line is available online at TransitTees.com, where you’ll find everything from Chicago flag baseball hats to our best-selling Chicago Transit Stop magnets. We also run a curated collection on Etsy, perfect for gifting Chicago-themed goods to friends and family across the country.

As always, you’ll find us out and about this spring and summer at Chicago’s street festivals and neighborhood markets. Whether you’re at Do Division, Wicker Park Fest, or a local art fair, there’s a good chance our booth will be there—stocked with fan favorites, new releases, and maybe even a few surprises.
